Om is above all a symbol. It evokes the breath (the life principle coming from the divine) or the Word (the plan, the cosmic law) that generate the manifested world.

This breath comes from the divine, a central point that expands to give rise to time, space, matter, and life.

The syllable Om (ॐ in Sanskrit) is made up of three phonemes: A, U, and M, which Hindu tradition links to a long list of triadic groupings, such as:

• the three gods (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva),
• the three Vedas,
• the three states of being (wakefulness, dream, deep sleep),
• the three worlds (earth, sky, atmosphere)...

So, Om primarily expresses harmony, balance, order, and meaning. Saying Om is therefore a way to honor manifestation and remember its coherent and unified nature.
